Ron Smith is a Master-level BJCP judge, Certified Cicerone, and seasoned educator with over 25 years of experience in beer judging, brewing, and beverage evaluation. He is the founder of BeerMBA.com , where he leads professional training programs and beer-focused travel experiences across Germany, Belgium, and the Czech Republic.

Ron teaches beer evaluation, sensory analysis, and professional brewery operations at Indiana University, and regularly judges at elite international competitions such as the Brussels Beer Challenge and Aro Rojo. Though best known for his beer expertise, Ron is a passionate whisky enthusiast with a strong appreciation for global whisky styles, distilling techniques, and barrel aging.

Based in Indiana, he also operates MarketWise Solutions, a marketing consultancy, and continues to educate and inspire through tastings, training, and community engagement.
